August in the HOt Shop is Challenging
The rich mix of great old friends and bored campers, looking for entertainment while it rains, fill the gallery and studio with lively conversation and hugs. Everything seems to be turned up a few notches to high, including the heat and humidity.
There have been 26 beginner glass blowers learning in the studio over the course of the past 6 weeks! Some amazing pieces have been created. We have also had great local support with people coming to our demonstrations and introducing out-of-town guests to all that happens in the studio.
We are casting new pieces with SOFA chicago just two months away, followed by Stephanie’s solo show at the Mesa Art Center in Arizona, Jan 2011. Things are cooking here for sure and it all seams to be screaming past us in a hot blur.
We are looking forward to hosting the Chicago chapter of the AACG in September. They are a wonderful knowledgeable patrons of the whole glass movement.
Stephanie has an exhibit of abstract paintings up at Jura Silverman Gallery in Spring Green, Wisconsin through September.
