SOMI Gallery is Sturgeon Bay’s newest contemporary gallery. SOMI is an extension of Popelka Trenchard Glass with the wonderful addition of painter Karen Hertz-Sumnicht, who works primarily in cold wax and oil paint on wood cradles. The opportunity for the gallery came about with help of Seth Taylor who owns the building and had been incredibly supportive of the new venture. It’s a gorgeous space that we have filled with bright colorful oil paintings and glass, both blown and cast. There is a third room which we are calling Third Room that will be used to exhibit guest artists.
